Show Notes for Episode 58, Gregory Clark "A Farewell to Alms"

ClalmsWow, the third series already? Where did the summer go?

The last FT I picked up had an absolutely glowing review of Greg Clark's A Farewell to Alms, so I decided to sneak a peek at it, and boom, I liked it so much that I led off the third series with it. Princeton has a TON of great books coming out this fall. I'm doing two and thinking about two other ones. They are making it really hard to choose.

For the record, the dog you hear barking around the 10 minute mark is Professor Clark's. He warned me that it might happen, but I thought it might add a funky, Pink Floyd kind of vibe to the interview, which it didn't. I guess I am so used to hearing our dogs bark that I didn't think much of it, but it does go a bit against the professional book of recording.

Episode 58 runs 35:02 and can be heard by clicking here.
